BREAST PUMPS – Which pump is the best option?
Should you look at a manual, single, double, electric, brand name or no name breast pump?
Dearest Blooming Breastfeeding Mommy, rather ask, which breast pump is the best for ME?
A breast pump should be bought with the following questions in mind:
Firstly – you should answer the below questions:
- What is my breastfeeding goal?
- Do I want to exclusively breastfeed?
- Do I urgently need to build a BIG supply before going back to work, and if so how does my situation look at the office, will I be able to close my office door to pump?
There are so many options out there, it’s frustrating and it puts a lot of pressure on you to decide…
My advise to you is – DON’T just buy because of the big price tag attached to the breast pump – brand names aren’t necessarily the best, or the best option for YOU!
Secondly – you should ask yourself:
• What is my budget?
Before you spend R2000 on a breast pump, PLEASE make sure that you ask an expert for advise and do some research.
Your breast pump is an expensive friend with lots of baggage, do your research together with an unbiassed expert and make sure you like the feel of it, the sound of it, the weight of it, the suck of it and the fit of it!
